In neurological conditions the problem is usually not the muscle but its control. Neurological physiotherapy therefore works with movement patterns that address the nervous system again. The PNF concept (proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) uses three-dimensional movements against measured resistance, touch and clear verbal cues. The aim is to make everyday movements such as standing up, walking or grasping safer again.
